True Parents’ Entrance into Cheon Jeong Gung and their Coronation as the Cosmic King and Queen of Peace

On June 13, 2006, True Parents’ entrance into Cheon Jeong Gung and their coronation as the Cosmic King and Queen of Peace took place at Cheon Jeong Gung, Cheongpyeong, in GyeonggiProvince, Korea. Around 30,000 people gathered in Cheon Jeong Gung’s outdoor plaza, including significant foreign political leaders, leaders of other faiths and our members. Peace ambassadors from 120 countries presented True Parents with crowns designed according to the local style in each country. Through his speech, “Cheon Il Guk is the Ideal Heavenly Kingdom of Eternal Peace,” True Father emphasized his hope that all people live as peace-loving citizens. This year will mark the tenth year Anniversary of this event.

Missionaries in Japan 

July 7, 1958 Busan, Korea

On July 15, 1958, for the very first time in the history of the Unification Church, missionaries came to Japan. True Father chose Japan as the place to begin foreign missionary work and sent Choi Bong Chun there as the first missionary. This was at a time before diplomatic relations had been established between Korea and Japan and coming and going between the countries was not easy. Missionary Choi took the ferry to Japan from Busan and settled in Tokyo after overcoming a series of difficulties. On October 2, 1959, he held the first worship service which marked the beginning of the Family Federation for World Peace and Unification of Japan. This year is the 58th anniversary of Japanese evangelism.

Establishment of the Universal Ballet Company

July 13, 1984 Seoul, Korea

On July 13, 1984, the Universal Ballet Company was inaugurated at the Little Angels Performing Arts Center. True Parents founded the Universal Ballet Company to raise Korean ballet to the world standard, to contribute to better international cultural exchange, and to lead the globalization of Korean ballet arts through True Parent’s support. The First Peace Cup

July 15, 2003 Seoul, Korea

On July 15, 2003, the first Peace Cup tournament began at the Seoul World Cup Stadium starting a heated 8 day competition for the Peace Cup. The opening match, which began after True Parents’ opening proclamation, was between South Korea’s Seongnam Ilhwa and Besiktas J.K. of Turkey. Eight famous football(soccer) clubs from around the world participated in the matches held in six World Cup Stadiums in Korea. The tournament lasted  for eight days until July 22. The  honor of winning the Peace Cup went to PSV Eindhoven of the Netherlands.  True Father spoke, saying, “Since the world now shares one fence and has become like one family, we can immediately know whether the Peace Cup does well or not.”
